Pre-installation Checklist for WHMCS

A successful WHMCS installation starts with proper preparation. Before you begin the installation process, please review and complete this checklist to ensure a smooth and secure setup on your Arh24.com hosting account.

1. System Requirements

Your hosting environment must meet the minimum requirements specified by WHMCS. Arh24.com servers are optimized for WHMCS, but it's always good to confirm:

  • PHP Version: Check the latest required PHP version on the official WHMCS website. Ensure this version is active for your hosting account.
  • PHP Extensions: WHMCS requires several PHP extensions, such as ionCube Loader, cURL, GD, JSON, and PDO. These are enabled by default on our servers.
  • Database: A new, empty MySQL or MariaDB database is required.

2. Gather Your WHMCS License Key

You must have a valid WHMCS license key. You can purchase one directly from WHMCS or, if applicable, through Arh24.com. Keep this key handy as it will be required during the installation process.

3. Create a New Database

WHMCS needs its own dedicated database to store all its data. You can create one easily using your Plesk control panel.

  1. Log in to your Plesk Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to Databases on the left-hand menu.
  3. Click "Add Database".
  4. Enter a database name (e.g., yourdomain_whmcs).
  5. Create a new database user by entering a username and a strong password. Use the password generator for best results.
  6. Important: Note down the Database Name, Database Username, and Password. You will need these during installation.

4. Download the Latest WHMCS Version

Download the latest stable version of WHMCS directly from the official WHMCS members area. You will receive a .zip file containing all the necessary installation files.

Security Tip: Never download WHMCS from an unofficial source. Doing so poses a significant security risk to your business and client data.

Once you have completed all the steps in this checklist, you are ready to proceed with the main installation. Please follow our next guide: How to Install WHMCS.
